UPDATED June 18: Robbins library has announced its list of June programs and events, to take place at its 700 Mass. Ave. location and the Fox branch (175 Mass. Ave.).

Holiday Hours in June

Robbins and Fox Libraries plan to be closed on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

Robbins and Fox Libraries are also expected be closed on Sundays from May 26 through Sept. 29.

Fox Library is set to be closed on Saturdays through July and August.

 Summer Reading Kicked off June 15                                                

This year’s theme is “Read Around the World.” Adults and teens are required to register.

Fox Branch's has started a new all-ages community Card Game Night. There is expected to be a variety of card games, including classics and newer ones, perfect for kids 3 and older and their grownups or just adults.

The group plans to meet at the Fox Branch Library’s front door and walk between 1.5 to 3 miles mostly along the Arlington Cultural District and Minuteman Bikeway.  Weather permitting.

 

Gentle Yoga and Meditation 

Tuesdays, June 25

5 to 6 p.m.

Whittemore Robbins Lawn (or Robbins Library Community Room in inclement weather)

Weather permitting. A gentle yoga and meditation class hosted by local studio Lotus Yoga. This is a beginner-friendly class focusing on stretching, breathing, and mindfulness. Those interested are asked to bring a yoga mat or use one of the provided chairs.

English NOW!, an Arlington-based group, offers English-language learners opportunities to practice their conversation skills, advance their knowledge of vocabulary and grammar, and make connections in the community. Participants in these free conversation groups discuss varied subjects under the supervision of native speakers. Arlington’s Beehive Poetry Group invites you to the “New Book and Open Mic” series. Featuring readings from recent publications by local poets, followed by an open mic for other poets to share their work. This month’s featured poets are Gary Whited and Matthew E. Henry. Introductions by Steve Rapp. Open mic reading slots will be on a first come, first served basis and open 15 minutes before the start of each event.
