UPDATED April 6: The annual town election took place Saturday, April 6, 2024, and polls were open from  8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  

Incumbents without challengers were on the ballot for Select Board, School Committee, the Board of Assessors and the Arlington Housing Authority. Each of 21 precincts elect Town Meeting representatives. Contested seats are in precincts 2, 7, 8, 12, 13, 16 and 18. See a list of the races and questions or see specimen ballots:

Some candidates for Town Meeting submitted a statement about their candidacy

Local Ballot Question: Shall the town vote to have its elected Town Clerk become an appointed Town Clerk of the town? (yes or no)

Voters may also find it helpful to read the "What Office Do We Elect?" tab, which lists the townwide races on the ballot and information about the Town Meeting races in each precinct. 

Write-in candidates will find information in the "What Candidates Need to Know" tab and are encouraged to notify the Town Clerk before election day that they are running.

Vote-by-mail deadline

Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned to the ballot drop boxes until 8 p.m.  Ballots received before 6 p.m. will be sent to the precincts and included in the unofficial results published around 9:30 p.m.  Ballots received later will be hand counted after the polls close. 

Ballots cannot be returned to the precincts on election day. 

Drop-box locations are: 

85 Park Ave (in front of ACMi);
175 Mass. Ave (in front of Fox Library) and
730 Mass Ave (in front of Town Hall).
